I had a productive day yesterday. I’ve started a journal. I have added a florescent light to my trays and thinned out the tomatoes plants to see if that helps. A website I visit said they need up to 16 hours of light a day and that is why they are stringy. Planted a square of peas, spinach, leaf lettuce, onions, radishes, 2 squares of asparagus and 8 squares of potatoes. I attached another layer to another box, filled it, and added the string to make the squares and planted onions and radishes. This is your new blog post. I started another tray on Apr 6th. (see below) I had a very productive day yesterday. The weather is so nice. I had compost left over from last year which I topped up a couple of boxes with. We went to a couple of garden centers. I think I have all the seeds I need now. I had a hard time finding Tomatillos but I finally found them at Humber nurseries. I also picked up the potatoes which I'll put in next Sunday. The inside tray was planted on Mar 30th and the outside Apr 6th. Box 1 is the box covered with plastic dome. Box 3; Yesterday I added a layer, topped it up with compost/peat moss and planted a square of peas. Box 4; last Sunday I planted 4 squares; swiss chard, ontion, spinach and leaf lettuce. Box 7; I added a layer and topped it up with compost. This box already has garlic and asparagus. Yesterday I planted 4 squares of parsnip, 3 squares of carrots and 1 square of peas. |
